US-based GO15 member PJM has announced it was exploring a way to identify and process resources that can support reliability in the near term. PJM had expressed its concern recently – including in a February 2023 study – about the level of resources it needed on the system to reliably serve electricity demand.
The framework for projects eligibility will be reviewed to assess proposals by their contribution to resource adequacy, with a focus on:
- Their reliability value
- The date by which they could be in service
- Their size in megawatts
