The National Electric Power System Operator (ONS) is carrying out, in partnership with the Ministry of Mines and Energy and sponsored by Itaipu Binacional, the “G20 Dialogue – Energy Transitions”, which has already taken place in Brasília, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
The event is part of a series of preparatory meetings for the ministerial meeting of the G20 Energy Transitions GT, which will be held in Foz do Iguaçu (BR) in October, and aims to engage Brazilian society in priority discussions on the topic such as:
- access to financing for the energy transition – focusing mainly on developing countries and emerging economies
- the social dimension of the energy transition, so that it is fair and inclusive
- the importance of an integrated approach to sustainable fuels.
For ONS, it is important to be part of this universe as the subject is strategic and important for the development of the Brazilian electricity sector.
In November, the G20 summit will take place in Brazil, marking the first time that Brazil will host this important global event.
