Masdar, the UAE’s state-owned grid operator, has unveiled the world’s largest solar project a few days before the launch of the COP28 conference in the city. With a total of 2GW of capacity, it consists of about 4 million bi-facial solar models, bringing the country’s total solar power production capacity to 3.2 GW.
Located 35 kilometres from Abu Dhabi city, the project was co-developed with Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, French power company EDF Renewables and Chinese solar developer JinkoPower.
