GO15 member and Italian power grid operator Terna has unveiled its 2025-2034 Development Plan for the national electricity grid.
The plan outlines over €23 billion in investments over the next decade to support renewable energy integration and enhance grid capacity in Italy. It includes initiatives to increase energy exchange capacity and huge infrastructures, such as:
- the Tyrrhenian Link,
- the Adriatic Link,
- the connection between Sardinia, Corsica and Tuscany.
The plan emphasizes efficient territorial planning to manage the surge in connection requests for renewable plants and data centers, which have seen significant growth.
